Whether intended or not - this song is song is on many levels. It can talk of naivete, being in love with love, so that 'ear plugs', like blinders, make one oblivious to the meanings and truth. It can talk of a lover who is also one's best friend. It can talk, simply, of a friend and - friend or lover - of someone that is dead, with 'meeting again' meaning in the after life. It is sad in so many ways and, at the same time, a celebration of the beginning of an awakening. I could say much more, if only I had the time.
