I'm just glad to see that my little bit of english nerdiness has effected you guys this way. Just remember, every emotion, every feeling, every concept that is invoked upon you from a song is intended, and even if it's not, you must search for deeper meaning. By looking past the fact that this song has meaning to just you personally, finding a deeper meaning, you have too become an artist, you have given birth to an idea.

The song is an allegory to George Orwell's novel 1984. The two people who this song is written about is Julia and Winston. They are in love in a world where love doesn't exist and thought police monitor your inner most thoughts from outward perspectives. They are speaking of their secret rendezvous where they truly feel alive. The final stanza is the catharsis to where Winston is forced to betray his love to Julia. Read the book and you will see the resemblance.
