To me, what this song means is, like, why worry about fighting? Let's enjoy ourselves. The good times might not last, so let's enjoy them while they're here. Everyone's caught up with bills and money and war and everything wrong with the world, so why not slow down and smell the flowers? Or kick them. You know, everyone's different. Not to mention that Kicking Daisies were young teens when this song was written, so listening to this song, at least for me, makes me want to run around and play soccer and jump on a trampoline, all at once. Older people could listen to this song and feel the urge to do what made them happy or calmed them down when they were under 18. When I first heard this song, I hated it. I also thought that the group was all girls. Now, like, 5 years later, I love the song and I know that at that time, Kicking Daisies consisted of two boys and two girls.
Now, the two guys are in The Silent Scene, making Techno/EDM music, and the two girls, last I heard, started a band called Like Violet. Everything does go, but I still have my first Kicking Daisies album.
