Usually Adam Young a love song sort of thing and its like he's telling somebody how he feels, this can be applicable by him saying I'm this to you, I will always be with you. But if you Adam's life into perspective this stanza makes more sense:
I am the white in the walls that soak up
All the sound when you cannot sleep.
Adam writes his songs when he can't sleep as he is insomniac, and not many people write songs in the middle of the night so its not Adam telling someone its someone telling Adam, and this means that when we take his religious beliefs into the interpretation the message is that God is telling Adam that he will always be around the world and be with him no matter what.
