The singer hails from Southern California and identifies with it as home but doesn't have the area's attitude or philosophy on life that is pretentiously sad, ugly, and fake. The person or institution he sings about, however, does hold these opinions / acts this way and the singer has gotten overly tired of it. That entity has caused the singer so much pain and heartache in even sexually sadistic ways, he wants to obliterate all feeling and become numb or dead inside which would be bliss in comparison to how this person has made him feel. The singer is tired of arguing where logic and trying to make sense proved pointless. He's now just mad, disgusted, and wants to act out distructively which is the opposite of killing off his feelings. He is conflicted and confused but feels certain that ending his relationship with this other person or entity will bring an end to his boredom, suffering, and disgust. One last meeting with that person to end the relationship and it will be over and the singer free again, as he realizes he desperately wants to be. This song written 1998 is one of angst and disgust, outrage, desperation and, self destruction but also salvation from the relationships and culture that have been oppressing a generation -- the children of the grunge / alternative rock movement leading into the outlook of a Millenial generation.
