The singer has found out that his girlfriend/wife has been sleeping with other men. He had been worrying that she was but either choosing to trust her or believing it is just his paranoia. When one of her lovers comes to the door and asks after her he knows he was right and, out of defiance, decides he is moving on. He's letting whatever she's done come back to her. Whether she wants her new lover or not, the singers' sending him to her and leaving. He believes she thinks that to justify herself, her existence, her soul she feels the need to be reflected in other people by sleeping with them.
