Don't listen to avenged-meanings, no offense. This song is a tribute to the late great Hunter S. Thompson. (Caught here in a fiery blaze, Heat stroke ridden weather) is talking about the desert they (Hunter and his attorney) Crossed to get to Las Vegas. Hunter and his attorney had a huge drug collection they took with them. At the beginning, "He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man" Is a quote from Dr. Johnson, Who was quoted at the beginning of The movie and book, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". "I'm too weird to live, but much too rare to die" Is a quote from near the end of the book. I would know, I'm a huge fan of both A7x and Hunter Thompson. : D
