Everyone has their own impressions of any and every song written. The meanings are different for each person. For me, personally, my opened the moment I heard the man I have been in love with since high school, who still makes me tremble at even the thought of being in his arms, has always been in love with me. The madness is the craving to be with him (knowing we are soul mates and the craziness it causes us knowing we are in separate worlds where we have made commitments to others that we can't break right now), the enslaving of hope is the hope that we will, at some point and time, will have another chance to be together.
