He thought their problems were to big to over come and made the decision for the both of them to leave. After time passes he realizes that he is still in love with her, but after all the hurt she has moved forward and met someone that loves her and cares deeply for her. She marries that man who treats her with the love and respect she deserves. He regrets leaving and that he thought the problems couldn't have been overcome. Where would they be if they just started working together instead of against each other? He's still thinks about it.
