It seems like it would be about warning a friend not to give into something that's really wrong. Like a bad relationship. Do you hear that shriek she has near the end? That's a friend in deep frustration, watching her friend go into that temptation, yet again. It's like saying 'how could you? And yet I can relate. I just tears me up to see you in that again. ' or it could be a song strictly about the emotions of lazarus & the rich man.
Also, I like how the melody is playful yet does not stray from the power of the distant metal influence, also suggesting, "how can you? and yet you do again." imagine lazarus in torment, and yet the rich are out there every day, day after day.
Great song.
