The meaning to this song I do beleive to be is, Usher is realizing that a woman that he has possibly loved in the past has made him a better man by loving him and all that meant she withstood all that he is as a man, and as an entertainer. The life of an entertainer is not an easy one especially if you are in a commuted relationship with that person, you have to deal with the press, him being on the road and long nights in the studio and let's not forget the constant temptation of groupies. This song is a way for Ushee to tell that person "thank you For helping me become that man I always knew I could be and no matter what happens I will always and forever love you for that"
