The Lost Boys are boys "who fall out of their prams when the nurse is looking the other way and if they are not claimed in seven days, they are sent far away to the Neverland" where Peter Pan is their captain. Given this definition, it's implied that nobody cares about her. No family, no friends. "as we soared above the town that never loved me, I realized I had a family."; "peter pan, tinker bell, Wendy darling... even captain hook you are my perfect story book. Neverland i love you so, you are now my home sweet home. Forever a lost boy at last... And for always I sing." She is so lonely that she goes into her own world. "run run lost boy, they say to me. away from all of reality." A world that happens to have Peter Pan (the boy who won't grow up?). Maybe she had a bad childhood and is experiencing a feeling about not wanting to grow up. Or reverting to a childhood. In the song, she mentions that she's 'on the run' from Captain Hook. On the run from somebody who abused her maybe? "Neverland is home to lost boys like me. And lost boys like me are free". Maybe she feels imprisoned (mentally) by something or somebody.
