I think of the black waters as the difficult times in life and the depression that goes with them. But that each time we come through it and sometimes we wonder how. 'Forget me nots among the snow', could mean that deep down we always remember our Creator even when we think we don't but especially the cold hard times (snow), but this has it's own meaning for me because a lot of my most treasured memories of loved ones are in snow, so that's personal and I'm a hopeless romantic, absolutely beautiful, touching song that moves you to the core.
