The theme of this song is to never let anyone, even a boy, ruin your life. It's also to live your life to the fullest. I choose these two themes because throughout the entire song, Elle states "I'm going to live my life, like it my last damn night," I think that what she means is that she wont let anyone get in her way and that she's a strong person. The first theme contributes to the song lyrics because throughout the entire song she keeps talking about a by and how his time is ticking away. I think what she means by that is that she is telling the boy off by saying it through a song. If you really look into the song, there could be a whole lot more themes to it, but I picked the ones that seem the most important and the ones that contribute a lot to the song lyrics.

She tells the man that she's strong enough to live every night of her life to the fullest. Basically she is telling the man that she is not going to let him get in her way, nor anybody else. I think that throughout this song, you can tell that Elle is a strong person and basically tells the man off.

What the author is trying to say is that not everyone wants to die. so basically they are holding onto their lives. The author says that the clock is ticking down, but its going slowly, what i think she means is that weather or not you want to die, your time is slowly ticking away.
