The girl is begging the guy to get back with her so they can start a new and in the lyrics its like telling the guy that what ever fall out they had before, they still belong to one another and that the girl was willing to prove that to the guy as long as the get back together.

Just seeing two people still in love and yet due to bad decisions broke up. Now the guy is going out with someone new and the girl is depress and want the guy back. The guy finally realizes that the break up was bad for them both even though it seems like he already got over their relationship and wants the girl back as well. I think both of them does not know how to get the other back and that's the reason why they haven't gotten back together yet. They go through this stage where the remember each other and the things they use to do together.

The guy was getting tired of their relationship because he feels likes they were just playing around not really in a serious relationship so he dumps the girl and started dating this new girl who he seems to like better because he get emotionally down with. Apparently the ex was seeing him date the new girl.
