To me, this song is saying that no matter how well off we are, no matter what we have, no matter how famous we are, we can still be unhappy. This song backs up the statement that 'money can't buy happiness. ' We can have everything we think we want and still not be satisfied. The reason is because we are missing the one thing that we should be striving after, the one thing that leads to true happiness, and that's Jesus. Our God loves us so much that He sent his perfect son to die a death that we deserved. When we accept this and follow Jesus with every fiber of our being, we are satisfied. We are fulfilled. There is a hole in our hearts that only God can fill, and all we have to do for eternal happiness is to let him in so He can mold us and shape us into the image of Christ.
