This is based on the parable of lazarus and the rich man--
"don't be quick to lick the scab off"- dogs licked lazarus's sores.
"please give me something, i'm so thirsty"- when the rich man was in hades, he saw lazarus in heaven and begged him to give him something to drink.
"oh please let me warn them. don't you come here, don't bring anyone here"- the rich man begged God to let him warm his brothers of their fate.
