This song has a great melody, but as it was written for a movie, the author was forced to make the lyrics fit the plot of the movie. To me, the lyrics weaken what could have been an even more powerful song. They seem cliche and trite, but that's likely because that's what the filmmakers wanted. Even with the uninspired lyrics, though, the melody (especially the chorus) haunts. Not trying to be a buzz kill, that's just my humble opinion.
