This song is about a relationship gone wrong. In the video, it's father and son, but it could be anyone. The person singing is realizing that all of things they fought about with their dad, all the things coming between them, is really nothing in comparison to the importance of being in each other's lives. The theme recurring throughout this song is that we should fix things with the people we love because we don't know when our last day will be (our their's) and once we're gone we'll never be able to change the wrongs we made in life.
