I think that this song is about how the guy wants to live everyday to the fullest with the girl bcos nobody ever knows when it will end. Hed go through the thick and the thin as long as he with her. And even though they have alot of memories, they wont look back on them and instead make more.
And I think that a few of you are looking at the lyrics too literal.
