It's simple; before Jude Cole wrote this album, he broke up with his honey. The song is his asking for her to make a decision as to the strength of the relationship. He knows that when they make love, she's preoccupied thinking of someone else or something else. And then there's the all telling lack of eye-to-eye contact. The eye contact is perhaps the first sign that she's straying from the relationship. This song goes hand-in-hand with House Full of Reasons.
