Well. In my opinion the song is about a guy who made a huge mistake. He took the girl he really loved for granted, and now she doesn't love him anymore, but he's still in love with her. He was trying to search for perfection when it was in front of the face the whole time. She has moved on, but, on the other hand, he didn't. He lost her for good.
