This song is the metaphor for my failed marriage. The last couple verses mirror all my feelings for everything that happened over the course of ten years. Slowly burning away any feeling I had until it was completely obliterated. But, I decided I needed to save myself and find who I once was. Not just for me, but for my sons, so they could see the real me and not some mindless drone that feared every day.
