Consumerism, chronic competition, poverty, education as a low priority, petty politcal squabbles preventing real issues to be resolved, prejudice, ignorance, inequality, rapists receiving less severe sentencing than a common Joe busted for possession of a dime bag of weed, our broken economy and the credit card companies who perpetuate debt, pedophiling priests who are dealt with by moving to a different Parrish, the death of democracy, blind. Patriotism, a war that is making matters worse, disregard for our fellow human, absence of compassion, violence and I think this song is about trying to keep from being swallowed up by this, this civilization we are killing. One day soon we too will be on the endangered list. This is only my opinion. Only what I think. The song may have nothing to do with this. But I'm having a bad day and this song has been helpful.
