What we are doing is praying for God to give us precisely what we want, or we want Him to give us advice and guidance the way we want it to be, when in reality we choose not to hear those words, because we hear the "Truth" that sounds right to our ears. What difference is there between us (Christians) and them (nonbelievers) if we seek truth from sentiments (feelings). What he is saying is clear your head when you pray. When God gives you an answer, accept it as the truth. Don't justify yourself because of what you want to hear.
