Basically, his girl has let everything get to her and ran away. He's there heartbroken and saying he knows she's said her minds made up and she's not coming back. Musically you can seefeelhear the anger sadness hopelessness in his voice when he keeps repeating "when your minds made up there's no point even trying/trying to fight it. So he says 'there's no point' in the chorus, rationally thinking; he knows she's really not coming back. But he still ends with the line that even still, if she calls. He'll come running. The movie once that this song comes from is awesome and this scene is so powerful in so many ways.
