I believe this song is talking bout the obstacles we encounter as we all try to pursue love. It may be we are already in a relationship and we are trying to make it work so we can go to the next stage or for some reason we are unable to be with the one we love for some reason or another.
Usher is sooo different in this song it's unlike him. I love it.
