The meaning of this song is of somebody who was truly madly deeply in love with someone. Then when betrayed by their partner, go there seperate ways. The betrayer thought the grass was greener on the other side and when the betrayed actually bettered themselves from the break up, the betrayer realised that the grass wasnt greener and realised they had made a mistake and wanted them back, but after all the hurt of knowing they were with someone else and abused their trust, quite rightly decided they were better off without them, although the betrayed still loved this person alot!
