Seems like this song is about a guy who breaks up with his girlfriend, and they both get very angry at each other. Eventually, all that's left is the bitterness, covering up everything that was good. And he knows it was good, and that he shouldn't be bitter, because it was his fault, but that just makes the bitterness worse, because if you're angry when you know you shouldn't be, you just get angrier. And so he's wrapped up in all this anger because he feels justified, and he wants to stop hating her, because he knows it's not right, but he won't stop because the anger feels so good. He really just needs somebody to come and bail him out, but he doesn't think anybody will.
