You know. It might be about Cain, the son of Adam. He's the one promised that if any man kills him, he would be avenged seven times over. His life exemplifies human difficulty after that; as the first farmer, the dust of the ground does not produce for him because of the curse of God on him, and he wanders the earth. Then, centuries later (as antediluvians lived up past 900 years), according to the book of Jasher, he is killed by an arrow fired by one of his descendants. Finally satisfying not only God's justice, but his own unconscious desire to atone for the sin of killing his brother Abel.
