The meaning of this song is that there was a girl that he had unstoppable love for, and something happened and they broke up. He was planning to marry this girl, and that is why he was so upset. He is so upset that he is dreaming that it would all be better, or that his relationship with this girl was like a dream how wonderful it was. He just wants them to become a couple again and get married, instead of being with the other guy mentioned in this song. This song reminds me of disappointment, and my life. There is a girl I really want and I know I can't have her. I dream about her most every night, and I know that it will never happen.
