My opinion. He was in a rough relationship and they both tried their best to make it work. You can only take so much until your pushed beyond your limits. He acknowledge that the must take a stand and state his position, theres no turning back. As you drink your sorrows away and get over the blame. Deep down the love you had for that person will always remain the same. Know what your love was and that it is for that person. After everything that happen in the end you know where you stand.
