The lyrics make several references to; the loss of, if not the taking of innocence. The introduction to s** drugs and rock and roll. Supposedly, the fcc or the record contract demanded that there be changes to the lyrics replacing "With a man whose gisim missed her" into an alternate "with a manager mister". The lines mentioning "Rev'ved up like a deuce" is a reference to the coupe sports car. And possibly the reckless abandon in the loss of James Dean(speculative at best).
