The words of this song has significant meaning to me as my son (in hospice) and now a good friend of mine (cancer relapse) are battling terminal diagnoses. It projects what my son refuses to do - he wont give up, he wont die from beginning to end (don't want to battle = wants to live). He wants to live from beginning to end - he will not follow death and all his friends (even though they've tried to carry him away many times) It's about having a stronger will than death, even despite a certain death sentence. It's like Dylan Thomas poem = . Do not go gentle into the good night. Rage, rage, rage against the dying of the light.
