I am not the author of this metal masterpiece, however, I do have my own interpretation of these lyrics. Brief lyrics that say alot have always facinated me by their effectiveness. I believe these lyrics are about personal atonement for sins committed against ones-self(self-neglect/abuse/et. Al). In real life facing one's demons is an integral part of learning, growing, and above all: following your own heart.
