This song is about a young man who is sent off to war and does not understand why his country has done this. If his country loves him. Why did it send him to war. His country has sent him to a war created by idiots for the sake of commerce and religion and only his dying brings his countries love. He did not want to be a part of the cold landscape of war he only wanted to be loved.
