The meaning of this song is about him wanting a girl that is engaged and he feels bad for having the feelings he does but he can't help it he has to have her. Second verse explains it all about the ring that is oversized shes overwhelmed that site of which has caught my eye. Meaning he knows its not what she wants. The I am selfish I am wrong is him admitting its wrong to have those feelings. Then when he said I am right. Means he knows she should be with him. Defense is paper thin one touch and ill be in to deep now to ever swim against the current so let me slip away means. Given any opportunity he's never be able to give up on the hope of having her love. So let him slip away. Basically saying bring it on biatch.
