I interpret this as the opposite of her trying to tell a boy that she loves him. I see at as her being in a really difficult situation (possibly with a boy) and every time she tries to talk it out, it turns into a fight.
I've been going through a really tough time with my boyfriend, and I turn to this song to calm me down because, for me, it explains my situation perfectly. I plan what I want to say to him, but when it comes down to it, I lose those words and it turns into an argument instead. :(
