To me, this song is about how insignificant people really are in the bigger picture. It's saying, praying to God will not help you, angels cannot hear you, you are not important to them "never reaches ears on distant stars". You have to get by on your own. If you die, the world will not change at all, it will carry on without you "won't disturb the peace on distant stars" "Your car crash in slow motion won't upset the pace on distant stars."
So yes, to me, basically, this song is talking about the insignificance of one human.
