I think it could be from the perspaective that Jesus died on the cross for us and gave the intentions that he would be here for us and stand up for us and never let us fall and to do this and to save us he gave his life and went to heaven henceforth "even if saving you sends me to heaven" I could be wrong just like all of you the only true meaning comes from how each person takes it to their own heart and how the songwriter meant for it to be.
