I was reading an angsty teen fic while listening to this and somehow got it in my head that she (the singer) and some guy were together, but only for appearances sake. They may be in high school, where it's sink or swim in the social game. "Close your eyes and make believe this is where you want to be" implies that they don't actually have real, deep feelings for each other. "Pretty soon you won't remember a thing And I'll be distant, as stars reminiscing Your heart's been wasted on me" She doesn't really like him, and while he might've entertained light feelings for her, he will forget her quickly, like most high school romances that seem to come and go. "And I'm forced into you just cause you're into me" like I said, she's with him because maybe he said a passing remark about how he thought she was cool or hot. But she was "gone from the very first day"-she never cared. She only used him. "I won't be sorry at all I'd do it over again" She doesn't mind toying with his brief attentions because she is taking what she can get and maybe making the most of his connections, his friends, his social status. But, like I said, I came up with this in a fit of teenage angst. Might be too dramatic for you, I think it could be legit.
