This song was written by a fellow Warren met in a Hollywood nightclub in 1969. He originally wrote the song for a girl from Atlanta that had jilted him. Bad ending. He wandered around Hollywood and met Warren at the Whiskey a Go on the strip. They became fast friends and drinking buddies. Warren wanted to ride a Harley and the songwriter had his bike parked out front. Warren wrote the music for the song and promised to do some art work but he never got round to it. The song caused a ruckus at the studio because Warren wanted it included on his latest album, "Wanted Dead or Alive" and the producer said it was too dark, too dangerous. Warren insisted and "A Bullet For Ramona" was cut and included on the album. The guy that wrote the song remained freinds with Warren for many years and became his bodyguard. He later worked as a body guard for Natalie Cole when she was going thru a nasty separation with her husband and after that he just disappeared. Warren's girlfriend at the time, Tulie was rumored to have slept with the bodyguard but from what I was told by him, it never happened, but it caused a split in the relationship with Warren.
