This song reminds of the kind of breakup where the relationship was bad from the start. He was never the right guy from the start and she knew that but just held on for whatever reason we hang on to bad relationship for. She acknowledges the good side of the relationship and that there was still some good fun in it. So why do we still feel bad when a bad relationship is finally over?
