I think its about how someone so self-centered wants help but wont help anyone else and they are debating the consequence and found none and they are ridiculing them by "im so selfish". But possibly it would be about being selfish because of hopes that they had that were taken away and they have a grudge. Btw I like the way they do a little mixing at desires. Haha. And this sorta sounds like a I set my friends on fire track if you hear it for the first time.
