- "Weezer (The Black Album)" is Weezer's thirteenth studio album and sixth self-titled album.

- Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio produced the record.

- Rivers Cuomo had stated in multiple interviews that the album was going to be urban, feature more synths, and would be ten steps further than Pacific Daydream.

- It was mentioned in an interview with The Woody Show on October 11, 2018, that the sound of the album would be a mix of Beastie Boys, Beck and Weezer.

- According to the interview with Zane Lowe, Cuomo said, "It's real challenging for me. I don't gravitate towards super dark music. There's always got to be something triumphant about it in the end. So, I've been struggling trying to figure out how I can do a "Black Album" as a writer."
