Anson Seabra – Welcome To Wonderland lyrics
[Verse 1]
Welcome to wonderland
We've got it all
Potions and pastries that make you grow tall
Forrests and cottages, castles and cards that can talk

Welcome to wonderland
Look where you’re at
Maddest of hatters
The Cheshire Cat
Magical cabins and lovely white rabbits with clocks

[Chorus]
Dancing through a dream
Underneath the stars

Laughing till the morning comes
Everyone that leaves has a heavy heart
Oooh, won-derland I love

[Verse 2]
Welcome to wonderland
I’ll be your guide
Holding your hand under sapphire skies
Let's go exploring or we could just go for
A walk

Welcome to wonderland
Where should we go
There's a tea party along down the road
Make an appearance and maybe they’ll sing us a song

[Chorus]
Dancing through a dream
Underneath the stars
Laughing till the morning comes
Everyone that leaves has a heavy heart
Oooh, won-derland I love

[Verse 3]
Nothing around here is quite
As it seems
Not sure if anything is real or
A dream
And the only thing sure from the stars
Is the song that's inside of your heart
Don’t let
It leave

If this was a dream then at least I’ve got
Memories for when morning comes
Now that I must leave with a heavy heart
Oooh, won-derland I love

I like to believe this song is about how depressed people sleep to get away from their lives and go to there happy place (A.K.A. Wonderland) and when he says “and now that I must leave with a heavy heart” I believe he is talking about having to wake up and go back to his life. This song always makes me tear up when I hear it because I can relate to it and my family wonders why I sleep during the day. But I like to read other people’s thoughts on this song because other people believe in other things. This song is very beautiful and I don’t understand why my sister doesn’t like it.

This song brings back memories, but it also makes me tear up. To me it means that we all must grow up one day, but that it’s okay. We all have a little bit of childishness in our hearts. When we were kids, that was the main time for imaginations. Even for those of us who had a rough start, imaginations is what kept us going. This song reminds me to be thankful for what i have, and reminds me that i had it better than some kids. It is an amazing song and i have literally listened to it over 10 times in a row while writing this. I still don’t know why Anson Seabra wrote it, but I am very thankful. When we grow up we fondly remember the imaginings of childhood, and sometimes some of us wish to go back to those days. As adults, we have rough days and still our imaginations is the thing that gets us through. We think about what things could be like, and we are reminded to be thankful for what we have. Even if we have it bad, things can get worse, but there is also the possibility that things can get better. We should never forget our childish imaginations.

To me this song is about a place for kids who are dying or died young. Like for kids who had cancer and died, or keep going in and out of conceins. So while they were un-conces they would be dreaming of this place. I dont know why it was written but I think people should create their own meaning of it and take it to heart.

This song makes me tear up, because i think he's talking about when young kid pass away, they go to somewhere called Wonderland where they can be happy and dont have to be in pain anymore. When the song mentions “Everyone leaves with a heavy heart” it means that they finally can go into the after life and or “Heaven” and some people have mentioned the fact that he mentions “Potions and pastries that make you grow tall” thinking that maybe a lot of younger kids didnt get to have the privilege to grow older. This song always breaks my heart, I've always had a connection with this song since i first heard it. Its always been something that ive always wanted to figure out the real meaning of it. So i hope everyone else can have the time and joy of reading the post and make the same Theories!

This song gives me the same vibe as nangijala, the afterlife in the story about the brothers lionheart. One kid was sick and the older brother told him about this magical place where you can play all day and it wouldn’t even feel like they were apart cause time didn’t pass the same.

I think this song is about anxiety. The first time he says welcome to Wonderland, he’s talking about life and how nice it can be but as the song progresses, he is talking more about how life could be a wonderland, but it isn’t. Like, he’s being “sarcastic” and just trying to convince himself that it will get better but it just... doesn’t. Life just doesn’t improve for him but he puts on a face and that’s why the song is happy but sad. It’s just him trying to convince himself of life’s meaning. The last bit is him realizing it wont get better, that he will always be sad. The dream ends when he dies.

Like many others have said when I first heard this song (my daughter was playing it) it made me tear up. The message that rang through to me was that of childhood and that the world is a wonderland until we become adults and our outlook changes. We can also be lucky to see our own children in their wonderland as a guide but we watch this also as they grow older.
Any parent who lost a child or has a very ill child would find this song very beautiful but very difficult to listen too.
The fact many people can hear so much in this song shows the simplicity yet brilliance of the lyrics from Anson Seabra.

for me welcome to wonderland resembles how much we've been rushing through life.. I love this song and taught me to follow my heart and take everyday as a lesson and opportunity to make a difference. I can play it on repeat and never get tired of it. Thank you

I always see this song as being about dissociation, about having an alternate reality in your head. This would make sense as dissociation is a coping mechanism for dealing with trauma. I myself dissociate and know that it is hard to sort between the 2 realities and that I'd much rather be in the fake on than in real life

this song is beautiful, how it describes the magical things in the wonderland like potions and pastries, cards that can talk, a sapphire sky, also the freedom in the wonderland you can experience: go exploring, take a walk or join a tea party. but it also sad as it says everyone that leaves has a heavy heart, at the same time implying that everyone is happy in the wonderland. they dance under the stars and laugh till morning comes meaning their "dream" (or imagination) has to end and it's time for them to face the reality. but it isn't a dream because the speaker doesn't have any memories of wonderland. i think it means that the wonderland is just a part of an imagination. it also says "the only thing sure from the stars (the only thing that is real) is the song that's inside of your heart, don't let it leave" i believe it means the only thing u can hold onto is your belief and hope in your heart although this world is nothing like the wonderland but we must not lose the song in our hearts. so in conclusion, this song uses descriptions of wonderland which is obviously, a world that is unreal to convey the speaker's longingness towards a magical fantasy full of happiness as well as his sadness and depression of reality that he uses his imagination as an escape and we mustn't lose our own self :)

This song reminds me of childhood and all the memories we created when we were young.I miss the days where we would laugh and dance under the clouds. It was nice, childhood. It is sad that it has to end. This song has created more memories and it has helped us remember.I think it is about when young people dream and they come to this place called Wonderland. It talks about how every time someone leaves[when they wake up] they leave with a heavy heart. They don't want to leave but they have to in the end. The memories from being in Wonderland will stick with the children forever. In conclusion, I think Wonderland is a magical place full of wonder and mystery.Maybe when you dream, you might end up in Wonderland... Who knows? It is possible.

I'm listening to this song right now, and it holds so much meaning to me. To me, it means that it's time to grow up. He's there with one of his friends or something, and slowly, he starts to realize their friendship might not last forever. When he says, "Welcome to wonderland
    I’ll be your guide
Holding your hand under sapphire skies
Let's go exploring or we could just go for
A walk", he wants to go exploring, then his friend chimes in and says, "A walk", because he/she feels they're too old for that. At the end of the song, his friend has left, and he realizes that if that was a dream, at least he has some last memories with his friend. I cried listening to it because I'm sort of going through the same thing. My best friend of 5 years won't talk 2 me unless I talk to her first, when I used to go over, she never let us do what I wanted to do. Her dads will cask if I can come over, just to keep HER company. It makes me SO angry, so mad, SO SAD. I don't think we're friends anymore. I don't think I can SURELY call her my best friend.

To me this song is about suicide every time I hear it it takes me to a dark place I feel so sad listening to it because I relate to it so much I think it’s about suicide because the line “everyone that leaves has a heavy heart” which makes me think that wonderland is a place you go to be free from all of that pain you experience and that “everyone who leaves has a heavy heart” means that everyone who leaves their life behind to go to “wonderland” has a heavy heart referring to depression and the line “If this was a dream then at least I’ve got
Memories for when morning comes” makes me think of someone right before they die when you cant decide weather or not you are dreaming everything is dark and you start to remember all the little things you’re going to leave behind and you get scared so what I’m thinking it means is that they said “if this is a dream” meaning what if I do end up waking up then when they said “at least I’ll have memories for when morning comes” they basically meant that all the memories flashing through their head will be so nice to smile to the next time they wake up sorry if this sounds stupid I’m so bad at explaining things this is just what I got from it

My crush told me about this song, and he said that it was one of his favourites. So i listened to it, and i immediately fell in love. with him, with the music... i knew he was my type. If you want to tell someone how you feel this song is a great and not awkward way to say it. I think that this music is soothing. it makes me so happy and i would recommend it to everyone. i believe that welcome to wonderland is a way that Anson can express his feelings to the world. When my crush showed me this song i really felt like we had a connection. I love that he made it like one of my favourite movies, Alice In Wonderland, with the mad hatter, the cheshire cat, and the bunny with the clock. He makes me love the song and the story so much more than i used to and i cant wait to listen to this song again and again and again. i'm so happy to have found this song and it has changed my life as i do suffer from very mild depression. ive never told anyone and this song makes me feel a little sense of security in sharing it.

whenever I hear this song I picture a girl as shes growing up with depression. the first time they say "welcome to wonderland" shes about the age of a toddler. shes experiencing the world and discovering the magic of it all (we've got it all). the second, shes in middle school or maybe elementary. she has friends that are crazy (maddest of hatters) and so on. but she has always had this little voice in the back of her head, thinking about leaving. shes just always had a heavy heart but laughs and smiles through it. the third time, shes in high school and has a boyfriend (holding your hand under sapphire skies).the fourth time, shes a young adult. she doesnt know where to go and feels alone. she tries to reach out to people and hopes that they'll "sing her a song" (acknowledge her). and yet she still has that little voice and she is at a complete loss. shes contemplating everything. her days blend together and she questions reality. theres a small glimmer of hope that tells her about all of the good times, and to not let those memories go and not let them leave. but its not enough. and at the very end, she takes her own life. brutal I know, thats just what I got from it

this song means its a dream from a kid that is fighting troubles every day. this song relates to me very much because of how unstable my entire life is and the only thing that helps is the dreams/wonderland. laughing till morning is like saying its better in the dream at night then it is real life morning

Hello. I have only heard this song a couple of times, but always tear up. I have been fondling on some ideas for what the meaning of this song is. My take on this is that "Wonderland" just so happens to be a metaphor for Heaven and that it''s a story of how children die young, of those who do. I take this theory from the tone of the song and also the part of the 1st verse that says "Potions and pastries to make you grow tall' as those children did not get that chance to grow in their lives.

This song i can relate to in a different way… to me it is a song about feeling crazy, in other words not being in the same reality everyone else seems to share. Getting help i miss wonderland but im glad its gone at the same time its almost bitter sweet (everyone leaves with a heavy heart) in wonderland it seems true that all that matters is the song of your heart even though it only makes sense to you… in wonderland you dont know wether youre awake or dreaming but its all so real. Very deep song and very beautiful. Not many make me tear up but this one hits the feels pretty hard.

I thought the song could be about someone using drugs and having a good experience, while knowing it will and has to end. I wouldn´t say it´s about glorifying. The nostalgic melody does make it sound like a haevy goodbye, but also a peaceful one. So it could be about someone taking drugs for the last time, knowing it´s good to stop. It would make sense from the perspective of someone, who finally decides to truly and permanently stop or used something once and doesn´t plan to repeat it.

It would also make sense, when it comes to leaving a place that became home. Going for the last time through places you´ve been.

For me I found this song a year ago early 2021 and it made me cry cuz it was very pretty and helped me through a rough time I didn’t think much of it besides it did me that child like vibe and kinda felt like it was a song about dreams or something but I have a new theory VERY MUCH JUST A THEORY read on with a open mind as it can be a sad and kinda brutal theory lol.

Recently after partaking in some interesting stuff aka magic stuff that gives you the high a the distorted world where things look more vibrant and bent and breathing this song to em has a new theory of it about that stuff and how when you partake it makes you like a child again and you see things from a new persons eyes in a way I know it doesn’t all add up but it’s just a theory to me that I find so fascinating and sad at the same time cuz at least to me it does that I when I partake it makes me feel like a kid again there’s my theory/rant

im writing this as im listening to the song. for me i believe it portrays my imagination "world" which is the only thing thats completely under my control, so everything is possible it's beautiful. In this reality that i created i could anything, i never had to worry about others' perspectives because every scenes i created were based on my perspective but of course i cant stay in that reality forever, when i snapped back into this reality, ooh everything starts getting difficult again hence explaining leaving with a heavy heart.

I like to think this song is for children that may be in foster care. They come from a bad situation into a loving and magical home. The heavy hearts are the foster parents that watch them leave when it’s time. Their time in a loving home is magical. They get loved and get to grow emotionally and physically.

I think this song is about: when your sleep and dream about wonderland, there is not worries, no fears and everything is prefect but you have to get out of wonderland and step into the real world even though you don’t want to but you still remember the wonderland u once loved
