Basically it starts off repeating shes kinda hot though in a semi sarcastic tone. This suggests that they are mocking the idea that all people have is their looks because that's a stupid idea. People in society get outcast and written off because they drop out of school or for other reasons and this song just kind of says "yea well we did alright". Other people may see outcasts as someone who will fail and may say "she's kinda hot tho" like as if they're saying; at least she has that to go on. However when Luke sings it he is mocking those people because 5SOS are trying to tell us how these people are more than that. This is the worst explanation ever but there we have it I tried.

The whole song speaks of how society and all the people around you from neighbors to girlfriends can change you and prevent you from being yourself. The message here is follow your dreams and all those crazy ideas you get in the middle of the night when you can't sleep; always be yourself and do not let anybody change any retail about you. We all are different and that's the only thing that makes us similar.

This song is where they got the idea of "The New Broken Scene". It shows how people can continuously doubt you, but you don't care, because you have yourself. It's okay to not feel okay at first, because in the end, you'll be alright. You're the ruler of your own world, whether or not it is perfect. You don't have to be like every other person out there. We're leading the way to our own outcasted community, but together, we're all happy as hell. You don't need to have everyone believe in you, nor should you listen to someone when they tell you that you have to be a certain way. We're far more than broken souls; we can make a difference.

To me, this song is about accepting yourself even when no one else can accept you. I feel like 5SOS wrote this song to their haters, kind of like a polite "f**k you, I don't care what you think." It's showing that they have come to terms with being an outcast or "loser", as they called it, and that now they're embracing those titles instead of getting upset about them. I remember one time Ashton was talking about his high school years at a concert, and he said that he had no friends until he met Michael, Luke, and Calum. He said that he discovered that it was absolutely okay to be an outcast. That's what I feel like they're saying, that it's alright to not be like everyone else and it's alright to be your own person. There's nothing wrong having your own plans for your own life, because at the end of the day, it's your choice and nobody else's. They're also saying that just because no one else believes in you, it doesn't mean that you're not gonna make it. It doesn't matter what the naysayers think because you can do it on your own as long as you believe you can. You'll be alright, you just have to push through all the negativity first. I love this song so much because it shows 5sos's journey from being a small fan-base band with lots of people telling them they couldn't do it to now being one of the biggest bands in the world. I'm so proud of them for making it this far, and they're only gonna go farther.
