There are indeed two versions of this song, and this is the radio edit version. The leader of apocalyptica did not want the radio to cut parts of the song out in order for it to play on the radio, so he made two versions of the song. One to play on the radio, and one to be awesome and for people to listen to when they are feeling down. Anyways, I love this song. ^^

I was trying to find the meaning of this song, its still subjective though. Looking at the lyrics, and because it features adam gontier of three days grace, I'm pretty sure its about finally giving up on someone hooked on drugs.
On three days grace's last album, even the band itself has stated that all songs except 2 or 3 are about heroin addiction, because I believe it was the bassist who got hooked on it while touring for thier album before last. Thier last album, one x, had songs trying to encourage quitting and talking about how he will give or do anything to help his friend, like the song 'never too late'. This song looks live all hope is lost.

I say it's someone in a relationship who is trying to make it work doing just about anything. But they fail to see both sides as the other person. And the person saying the song, is putting up with arguements that are unfair. There's just a point where you get to that you just give up and don't care. Even if you do love them, if they don't work with you it just ends up this way.

You taught me never to trust and never to follow my heart! I made you my world, poured my feelings out to you and you played me like a fool. Its been 8 years and though I wont admit it to your face I'm still uncontrollably hurt by you ever day.

First off. Outdated lyrics.
This song has a strong meaning. I believe it reflects a struggle between a relationship. No matter what he did, she wouldn't see his side of it. She refused to believe him and he couldn't do anything about it. In time his feelings turn in to hate. In order for him to get over it, he had to not care about her anymore, whether she is alive or dead. The song shows how he had to deal with the seperation.
