Cathedrals – Suppertime lyrics

Well, this song gives me a special feeling in my soul! When I was but a girl, maybe 12, I heard this song sung the very first time, the woman sang it really good, but hand a twang in her voice! I had never heard it like I said, but at 12, I was a tad smarter than some of my peers. So I am listening to it and how she is singing of a young boy in his childhood, talking about supper time, and him remembering that has he is older. So I keep listening and then he begins to reminisce about his sweet momma, how she was feeling death near, as she was passing, she heard the call for suppertime in Heaven, so she has now passed from this life to the next. And hopefully by the grace of God, if he lives right, he will one day see his sweet momma again. Then the next verse, oh what a sweet and wonderful verse, In visions, I would imagine in dreams, he sees his momma over in yonder, by the other verses, we can say Heaven. A old familiar voice he has heard once more, we know he is talking about his mother, the table is ready now in Heaven, we know there is going to be a Wedding Supper in Heaven. Jesus is the Groom, and the Church that had made herself ready is the Bride, the ones that has already gone on with the Lord already, and the ones which are alive and remain. The ones in the Old Testament that were saved before Grace period began! ALL, the Bride of Christ will be at the Lambs Supper in Heaven! And the Golden Shore is of course Heaven! Three different Suppertimes! All one meaning! Yes thank you Jesus for your sweet Suppertime! We’re waiting for his sweet return! Supper time!
