I personally think that this song should become the Worlds Anthem, as it is so powerful and truly could 'reach' out to all of us.
It is saying that we should help people who are in more need than us, (and perhaps then we'd receive help too.) It goes from saying 'I' to 'Together' as the singer realizes that just because one person has a good idea, they cannot do it alone, everyone needs to help, and eventually it becomes all their ideas as well.
However, the 'answer lies' suggests that no matter how hard we try, we are lying to ourselves, and we will never become one - but that's pessimistic of me, so a more optimistic approach would be that the 'answer' is somewhere in our minds and we just all need to take the time to find it, (and perhaps eventually we will).
This song suggests that whilst we, as individuals, try to help each other and become the best that we can it will not happen until we become one, so that no matter who we were in the past, 'sinner or saint', everyone can put that behind and move forward, 'helping' each other in turn, so that we can be the best of humanity.
